On April 12th, my father was brought home from the hospital and placed under VITAS hospice care. Our family could not have made a better decision and my father made his decision to trust his last days into your care. We asked for a full comfort care nurse on Sunday, April 16th. Christina, of the intensive Comfort Care unit (Pamela Williams is her supervisor), stepped into our lives. When she arrived, she quickly assessed our case and asked for a full Comfort Care nurse, but she informed us none were available. She took it upon herself to be with our family. She went above and beyond, driving in the storm to fill a morphine prescription on Easter Sunday! She stayed with my family the entire evening when no one else could. She walked my mother, sister, and I through the evening of medicating my father to keep him calm and peaceful. She helped to clean and dress him. It was the best he had looked in years! We could not have gone through this process without her. THANK YOU and please thank Christina.
