Hospice Chaplains Offer Spiritual Comfort
“Being a hospice chaplain gives me the satisfaction of being of service to people who are hurting, and helping them find peace.”
—Charles Lowry, VITAS chaplain
A hospice chaplain plays a spiritual role that goes beyond prayer. As a hospice chaplain, you'll offer spiritual support to patients and families and bereavement assistance after a loved one's passing. Hospice chaplains honor each patient's spiritual beliefs and respect the family's cultural traditions. When requested, hospice chaplains work closely with the patient's clergy.
As a VITAS chaplain, you’ll benefit from:
- Support from a team that focuses on patient-centered care.
- The ability to make your own schedule, to see your patients when they need to be seen.
- A company that stands by its values and supports your professional goals.
