Registered Nurse (RN), Admissions
VITAS admissions nurses are our patients and families' first introduction to the quality end-of-life care that VITAS provides. The admissions nurse's primary responsibility is to present VITAS services and philosophy to patients and families in a manner that results in appropriate hospice admissions. To qualify for the position, candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse in acute or sub-acute care and a current state of California RN license.


Registered Nurses (RN)
The VITAS patient-care RN is responsible for initiating the appropriate intervention and support for our patients and families and provides a continuously appropriate, comprehensive and responsive plan of care. To qualify for the position, candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse and a current state of California RN license.


Team Manager, RN
The VITAS team manager is the leader of the patient care team whose function is to supervise, evaluate and coordinate the various members of the interdisciplinary team. To qualify for the position, candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting and a current state of California RN license.


Nurse Runner, RN
The VITAS nurse runner is a member of the interdisciplinary team and is the pivotal person in identifying the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the patient and family.  Responsible for initiating the appropriate intervention and support for the patient and family upon admission to VITAS and provides a continuously appropriate, comprehensive and responsive plan of care. Candidates must have two (2) years of experience in hospice and a current state of California RN license.


Hospice Aide, CHHA
The VITAS hospice aide is a certified home health aide (CHHA) who provides personal care and services to VITAS patients to augment the care given by family members. To qualify for the position, candidates must have a minimum of one (1) year of direct patient care experience and a current certification.


Social Worker, MSW
The VITAS social worker supports the psychosocial well-being of our patients and families by defining social service goals for alleviating problems, and providing the counseling and casework needed to meet these goals. To qualify for the position, candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a health-care setting or social service agency and a master of social work degree.


Chaplain, Per Diem
The VITAS chaplain is a member of the interdisciplinary team and focuses on the spiritual needs of patients, families, caregivers and staff, including volunteers. The chaplain provides pastoral care interventions, including pastoral counseling, which are determined by spiritual assessment, the specific setting and sensitivity to a variety of values, beliefs and religious orientations.
